The project focuses on improving TB case detection and treatment completion rates for drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) and drug-sensitive TB (DS-TB) in 15 districts of Sindh Province through a strong social mobilisation approach.
Community-based activities aim to track index cases, trace contacts, and facilitate referrals from target communities to the nearest Basic Management Units (BMUs) and Programmatic Management of Drug-Resistant TB (PMDT) sites.
RSPN’s role includes facilitating pre-TB mobile van visits to high-risk communities, raising community awareness, tracing contacts of TB-positive cases, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures, and supporting timely referrals to relevant health facilities. Contech International, as a consortium partner of JSI, oversees the operationalisation of the community mobilisation component and the implementation of TB interventions. JSI provides technical and financial support as the lead partner of the consortium.
