
Jamil has held several senior positions within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), including Chief Executive Officer and Director of Programmes at the Aga Khan Foundation in Kyrgyzstan, where he led strategic initiatives focused on community development and strengthening civil society. He also served as Monitoring and Evaluation Manager at the Aga Khan Foundation in Tanzania, contributing to results-based planning, programme learning and donor reporting.
Earlier in his career, Jamil held key positions in Pakistan, Tajikistan and other countries, including Programme Advisor for Enterprise Development in Tajikistan and Manager, Evaluation and Learning at the Aga Khan Foundation, where he supported multi-sectoral impact assessments in rural and underserved communities. He began his career with AKRSP in 2003 as Market Development Manager and subsequently served as Monitoring & Evaluation Manager in Gilgit, gaining extensive grassroots experience in programme design, impact assessment and stakeholder engagement.
Jamil also served as Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability Advisor with Save the Children during the Malakand emergency response, providing technical leadership across multiple humanitarian sectors.
He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi, and a BSc in Statistics from the University of Karachi.
