Chairman RSPN, Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan conducts first community dialogue in Larkana village as part of SUCCESS Programme

Larkana, March 29: Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan, Chairman RSPN/SRSO, today conducted the first dialogue with the community in Jumo Shaikh village of Union Council Mahar Wada, Larkana, as part of the Sindh Union Council and Community Economic Strengthening Support (SUCCESS) Programme’s launching ceremony.
During the ‘first dialogue’, organised by Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO) Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan, in a lively and engaging manner, shared insights from his decades of experience of working with rural communities across the country, and abroad, and helping them in overcoming poverty through collective efforts. He also explained the processes, intended outcomes and objectives of the community driven development approach.
He urged the villagers to organise themselves by forming community organisations, and starting saving money, identifying issues, discussing the issues and collectively coming up with solutions.
Mr. Khan emphasized on the locals to organize themselves, harness and enhance their skills and potentials to be able to improve their lives and livelihoods, to be able to break out of the poverty line. He said that decades of experience has proven that organized communities are relatively more successfull in overcoming poverty.
The first dialogue was also addressed by SRSO board member Mr. Faizullah Qureshi, who urged the locals to positively contribute towards collective growth and development.
SRSO is implementing the SUCCESS programme in Larkana and Kambar Shahdadkot districts of the Sindh province.
The European Union funded programme is also being implemented in six other districts – Tando Muhammad Khan, Sujawal, Matiari, Tando Allahyar, Dadu and Jamshoro, by TRDP and NRSP.
